Three Legg'd Mare / Y Gaseg Deircoes

Ceffyl benywaidd gyda nifer ansafonol o goesau? Hen enw am grocbren diwydiannol y ‘Tyburn tree’? Ynteu band gwerin Cymreig?

Pob un, o bosib, ond yn bendant band gwerin o Aberystwyth.

Mae Kate, Daf a Jon yn ymhyfrydu wrth ganu caneuon traddodiadol - a rhai o gyfansoddiadau eu hunain - yn Gymraeg a Saesneg. Ers nifer o flynyddoedd erbyn hyn maen nhw wedi ymgolli eu hunain a’u cynulleidfaoedd mewn caneuon am serch, colled, llawenydd, dyhead, tristwch, antur, gwallgofrwydd, iachawdwriaeth a bywyd bob dydd. Taith trwy fydoedd ffisegol a metaffisegol, hanes wedi ei gosod ar gân, sesiwn gynhyrfus, mewnwelediad anedmygol ar fywydau o’r gorffennol - mae’r Gaseg Deircoes yn cynnwys y rhain i gyd a mwy, wedi eu plethu ynghyd trwy harmonïau lleisiol deheuig a llawer gormod o offerynnau hynod i sôn amdanynt.

Oh, the voices! Three excellent, distinctive voices of character that blend remarkably well’

Cylchgrawn The Living Tradition (Chwefror 2020)

Absolutely brilliant … ancient and modern at exactly the same time … I love it!’

Frank Hennessy, BBC Radio Wales (Ionawr 2018)

‘ ... the breadth of their musical talents and gorgeous close harmony singing deserves a much wider audience’

Folk Radio (Tachwedd 2019)

‘Love the new album'

Mike Harding (Chwefror 2018)

Arbennig’

Georgia Ruth, BBC Radio Cymru (Medi 2016)

‘Canny trio from Aberystwyth who understand trad sources be they Welsh or English and give a different spin to the very familiar. They’ve a dulcimer and they’re not scared to use it! Unusual arrangements, atypical instrumental accompaniments mean that songs that you might believe are common currency prove surprising winners in the rise again stakes. You’ll like this y’hear? A winner.’
